I\u2019ve always been a dreamer with ambition, but I left school with few qualifications and no clear direction. Through hard work and a willingness to learn, I built a successful career \u2014 but life threw me a curveball shortly after my twin daughters were born. I was hit with overwhelming anxiety and feared the worst, given my father\u2019s history with mental illness. Thankfully, with medical help and supportive counselling from my employer, I began to find my footing again.<\/p>
Counselling helped me understand myself better. A therapist suggested I try martial arts for both physical and mental balance. I\u2019d dabbled in several before, but I returned to Wing Chun and eventually gave Brazilian Jiu Jitsu (BJJ) a reluctant try. That moment changed everything.<\/p>
BJJ humbled me, challenged me, and healed me. Over the last 10 years, it\u2019s become a core part of my identity. The gym I now train at \u2014 gritty, real, and full of heart \u2014 feels like home. For me, Jiu Jitsu isn\u2019t just a sport. It\u2019s therapy. It makes you stronger, more self-aware, and better equipped to face life. It teaches humility, discipline, and presence.<\/p>
This brand is born from that journey. The slogans and designs reflect how BJJ \u2014 like life \u2014 requires us to roll through the hard times<\/strong> and grow<\/strong> from them. Whether on the mat or in everyday struggles, we\u2019re all just trying to keep moving forward.<\/p> Oh, and the moustache? That started just before my first BJJ comp for Movember and never left. It\u2019s now part of who I am \u2014 a Gi, a roll, and a lip warmer. That\u2019s my happy place.<\/p> Thanks for reading.
