So I love a wrist lock. If you bend someone\u2019s wrist in the wrong direction they cry for mummy. It\u2019s such a simple concept, block the elbow, crank the wrist. They are genius, and I was determined to make them a part of my game.<\/span><\/p>

I had done some research and watched some YouTube (as all good BJJ students do) and I had a rough idea about how I could annoy my training partners by messing with their Radoiocarpal joint but I needed more. Then it happened, a post telling me Pete the Greek\u00a0 is doing a seminar in the uk at Lake District BJJ in Kendal.\u00a0 Wow. So three of us loaded up a van and headed north to learn this\u00a0 dark art from the American carpal gladiator<\/span>.<\/span><\/strong> And what a great experience it was. I never knew you could wrist lock from so many different positions and I really enjoyed the delivery from Pete as well as the knowledge I gained.<\/span><\/p>

Wrist locks aside, Lake District BJJ is such an amazing and welcoming gym. A great bunch of BJJ players who run excellent seminars all the time so well worth a visit.\u00a0 I will definitely go back at some point to try another seminar.<\/span><\/p>

So back in my home gym, do I hit wrist lock subs all the time? No, I hit a few but not often. Is everyone scared of being wrist locked and panic when I touch their hands? Yes, 100% , so guards open, grips get released and people are distracted. If you can foot lock, smoother and knee bar then wrist locks are just as legit, if someone says other wise, send them my way and I\u2019ll end their calligraphy career.\u00a0 The best comment I have heard is \u201cyou can\u2019t wrist lock me from that position\u201d. Just f**king watch, because yes I damn well can!!<\/span><\/p>
